Chrissie Hammond Is Chicago Mama???Date: 24 October 2005Rumour has it that Chicago’s next Mama Morton is likely to be Chrissie Hammond, the Eighties pop star who founded the bands Air Supply and Cheetah and had three top 10 hits. She also recorded nine albums with keyboard player Rick Wakeman. Hammond has a musical theatre pedigree behind her as well, having taken leading roles in Cats (in the West End and on tour), Jesus Christ Superstar, Smokey Joe's Cafe and Harry's Web. She has also taken on the part of the prison matron before (seeNews 17 Jun 2004). Though dates are still unconfirmed, she’s likely to return to the role after Wonder Woman Lynda Carter finishes her run at the Adelphi Theatre on 19 November 2005. Related Content |
