Saucy Jack Sinks Stilettos into The Venue???Date: 13 October 2005Sci-fi musical Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens may be high-heeling it back into the West End next month. First seen in 1995 at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it won a Fringe First, the piece was expanded into a full-scale musical, which transferred to Shaftesbury Avenue’s 990-seat Queen’s Theatre in 1998. Since then, the show has toured regionally and had cabaret success in a south London bar. It’s now tipped for a more intimate setting at The Venue, the 350-seater, converted from a former nightspot and church hall off Leicester Square. Set in a seedy bar on the planet Frottage III, a debauched space age haven for gender outlaws and plastic worshippers, Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens follows a cosmic investigation into the mysterious murders of a number of talented but obscure cabaret artistes. All have been found brutally slain with a sequined stiletto embedded in their chests. It is up to the Space Vixens - crime-fighting, Glitter-Boot-wearing, federal agents from a 'groovier' galaxy - to find out the true identity of the killer. Related Content |
