Tintin Does It Doggie Style at Barbican???

Date: 7 October 2005

It’s definitely a dog’s life for these aspiring actors. The Young Vic is holding a casting call for a canny canine to take the crucial role of Snowy in its new Christmas show Tintin in Tibet, which runs at the Barbican from 29 November 2005 to 21 January 2006 (See News, 20 May 2005). Auditions will take place at the Young Vic’s temporary home in Kennington Park Studios on Thursday 20 October 2005. No stage pedigree is necessary, but the four-legged star should be a well behaved West Highland white terrier with a calm temperament and the ability to work under pressure. Tintin, the world’s most famous boy reporter, has become a modern day icon, with his trademark crested quiff, plus-four trousers and his faithful dog companion. Tintin in Tibet, based on Hergé’s comic book stories, is directed by award-winning director Rufus Norris, and follows his acclaimed Christmas production of Sleeping Beauty last year. If you think your little Westie could be a star in the making, please contact Charlotte Geeves, company stage manager on 020 7820 3350 or alternatively e-mail charlottegeeves@youngvic.org.
