Stoppard & Nunn Join Royal Court 50th Party???

Tom Stoppard is a playwright whose name you’re most likely to associate with the National Theatre, where he premiered many plays including
Arcadia, The Invention of Love and, most recently,
The Coast of Utopia trilogy. However, Stoppard has written his latest play specifically for another theatre, the Royal Court, where, according to
Variety, it will form part of the venue’s 50th anniversary season next year, the programme for which is officially announced next Tuesday (See
News, 29 Sep 2005). Former NT artistic director
Trevor Nunn – who has previously directed Stoppard’s
Arcadia and
The Coast of Utopia at the NT – will, along with the playwright, will make his Royal Court debut with the new play. It’s expected to have an eight-week season starting in June 2006.
