Spacey Unveils Second Season Programming??? Date: 6 September 2005
Although theatregoers remained enthusiastic (See Big Debate, Jun 2005), critics were by and large unimpressed with Kevin Spacey’s inaugural season as artistic director of the West End’s Old Vic. So a lot is riding us his second season. Details of his first two productions - Richard II, which stars Spacey himself and starts performances this week, and the Christmas return of Aladdin with Ian McKellen – have already been eked out, but the rest remains a mystery. Until Thursday morning, that is, when Spacey and his producer David Liddiment will be briefing arts journalists on programming for the next year. Watch this space for full reporting from the event.
