Flatley Tames Celtic Tiger in UK???Date: 6 July 2005 And speaking of Irish dance, the self-proclaimed “lord of the dance” Michael Flatley aims to storm back onto the UK stage this autumn with his new dance extravaganza Celtic Tiger. Final UK dates have not yet been confirmed but the show launches its international tour in Budapest tomorrow (9 July 2005) and is expected to hit Manchester in September, before visiting Birmingham and Sheffield. Celtic Tiger tells Ireland’s history through images projected onto a huge screen behind dancers portraying key moments from the Celtic past, including the 1916 rebellion and the birth of modern Ireland. At a London press conference, the former Riverdance star said the new show is the fulfilment of his life ambition. “It is like having the greatest movie in the world with the largest screen, the greatest dancing in the world with the most wonderful company, and the greatest pop concert in the world with an amazing score, all in one show.” Celtic Tiger is devised and choreographed by Flatley, who also is producing it with Clear Channel Entertainment.
