Riding & Crewes Reschedule for September Cabaret???Date: 4 July 2005 Two-time Olivier Award winner Joanna Riding and The Woman in White’s star Martin Crewes are planning to repeat their Old, New, Borrowed, Blue cabaret at the New Players Theatre, Charing Cross, this September. Riding, who recently finished a stint as Ruth Condomine in Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit at the Savoy, and Crewes were the first to perform in a new series of late-night entertainments at the Prince of Wales Theatre’s Delfont Room in February 2005 (See News, 23 Dec 2004). They were due to repeat their sell-out show at the New Players on 24 April 2005 but had to cancel at the last minute when Riding fell ill. They’re hoping to secure a September date, which will be confirmed shortly. Meanwhile, the next Delfont Room cabaret will be on 27 July 2005 featuring West End diva and ‘killer’ soprano Rosemary Ashe, who’s currently appearing as formidable nanny Mrs Andrews in Mary Poppins. The cabarets are produced by Delfont Mackintosh and David Dolman, who tells Whatsonstage.com there are more to be announced in the next few weeks.
