Barrowman Joins Lowe’s Few Good Men???Date: 17 June 2005John Barrowman, currently seen on television in hit sci-fi serial Doctor Who, is tipped to return to the West End to star alongside Hollywood’s Rob Lowe in the stage version of A Few Good Men (See News, 25 Apr 2005). Barrowman is best known to theatregoers for his starring roles in musicals such as Chicago and Anything Goes, for which he won last year’s Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Musical. His musical success has also secured him film roles in Cole Porter story Delovely and the upcoming screen version of The Producers. In Aaron Sorkin’s play, two Marines are on trial for their part in the death of a colleague. In 1992, A Few Good Men was made into a film starring Tom Cruise, who coincidentally bears a striking resemblance to Barrowman - though they don’t play the same role! Unsurprisingly, the lead role of defence lawyer Lt Daniel Kaffee has been nabbed by West Wing star Lowe. A Few Good Men is at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 18 August to 17 December 2005.
