Redgrave Replaced in Pericles for Good???
Date: 16 June 2005
Corin Redgrave is unlikely to return to the Globe’s current production of Pericles, after suffering a heart attack at a political rally last week (See News, 9 Jun 2005). Artistic director Mark Rylance has stepped in to the role of Pericles the Elder in the short term, while John McEnery is preparing to take over for the rest of the repertory run to 1 October 2005. McEnery has previously appeared at the Globe in As You Like It, King Lear, Antony and Cleopatra, and last year's production of Romeo and Juliet.
