Broadway Changes Fuel Chitty Rethink???Date: 18 May 2005And speaking of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, producers haven’t ruled out a West End return for the show – albeit in altered form. After it finishes at the London Palladium in September (See Today’s News), the £6.2 million musical, based on the famous 1968 children's film, launches a UK tour in December, when it’s likely to incorporate many of the changes made for last month’s Broadway premiere. Producer Michael Rose told the Evening Standard that the New York production is “sharper, tighter and wittier than the original”. So there may well be more mileage in that old flying car yet.
