Mamma Judy Joins Big Boys on Rich List???

There's a well-known adage that you can't make a living out of theatre but you can make a killing. Those making the biggest killing are detailed in “The Rich List”, The Sunday Times annual ranking of the 1,000 richest people in the UK. This year's list shows Andrew Lloyd Webber - who, with an estimated fortune of £700 million, rockets up to 65th place with the announced sell-off of his theatres (See News, 24 Jan 2005) - and fellow impresario Cameron Mackintosh – who, valued at £400 million, nudges up to 125th place on the back of Mary Poppins - as the highest theatre-related entrants, as you might expect. But hot on their heels is former Mackintosh employee and now multi-millionaire (£67 million to be exact) Judy Craymer, whose success with Abba blockbuster Mamma Mia!, which generates more than £4.1 million a week around the world, has propelled her into Rich List running for the first time. Also on the list is producer and Old Vic champion Sally Greene who, with her property-dealing husband Robert Bourne, weigh in at 938th place with a £50 million fortune.
