What Ever Happened to Baby Jane & Leslie Ash???Date: 24 March 2005 Leslie Ash, from TV’s Men Behaving Badly, has been in the news recently for contracting the MRSA bug during a hospital stay. However, while still recovering from her illness, she’s already planning a comeback via the West End. She’s in talks to appear in a new stage adaptation of the 1962 screen classic What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. The film noir centres on two aging sisters. Baby Jane was a child star. But when she grew up, the public abandoned her, and it was her sister Blanche who became the Hollywood star. After Blanche is paralysed in a car accident, she has to rely on Jane to take care of her. But Jane hates Blanche. On stage, Ash would take the role of the wheelchair-bound Blanche, played by Joan Crawford on screen, with Sarah Lancashire (Coronation Street, The Rotters’ Club) as Baby Jane.
