Princess Diana Dances into West End???Date: 10 March 2005Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or, to be more serious, is it a ballet? No, says creator Peter Schaufuss, “It’s not so much a ballet as a ‘musical without words’.” Whatever it is – some reviews have also likened it to a pantomime - Diana The Princess is tipped to transfer to the West End in May after its brief UK premiere engagement this week at Manchester’s Palace Theatre. The piece, which stars British-born Zara Deakin, had its world premiere in Denmark last year and features a diverse musical score, ranging from The Cure to Elgar. In Manchester, audiences have been reportedly booing the characters of the Prince of Wales and his fiancée Camilla Parker Bowles. Related Content |
