Whatsonstage.com Finds Fame at Oliviers???Date: 21 February 2005 We already mentioned it in our news coverage of last night’s 29th annual Laurence Olivier Awards (See Today’s News), but we’re so excited about it, we couldn’t help ourselves from highlighting it again. Whatsonstage.com was immortalised in song last night by The Producers’ Leigh Zimmerman who debuted her actor-singer husband Domenick Allen’s new version of Cole Porter’s “Let’s Do It”. The line in question: “The Whatsonstage gossip page does it”. Hoorah! We imagine that the acknowledgement was as much – if not more – for Whatsonstage.com’s always lively Discussion Forum. Either way, we’re happy with our newfound fame. Incidentally, Zimmerman confided that, after the song’s most salacious lyric – “Kevin Spacey on his mobile denied it” – she didn’t expect to ever work at the Old Vic. Their loss.
