Hancock Inspires New Eldridge Play???

Fans of Festen will be happy to hear that adapter David Eldridge has much more in the pipeline. One of his mooted projects is a vehicle for veteran actress Sheila Hancock, who opens this week in the West End production of The Anniversary. In this week�s 20 Questions interview, Hancock confirms that Eldridge is �trying to write something for me at the moment�. The two � along with Festen�s award-winning director Rufus Norris � have previously worked together on Eldridge�s play Under the Blue Sky, which ran at the Royal Court in 2000. In the meantime, Festen remains in the running for several Whatsonstage.com Awards, including the most hotly contested Best New Play. Voting ends on Monday 31 January 2005, with winners announced on Tuesday 1 February (click here to vote now).
