More Names for Guys & Dolls???Date: 10 January 2005 Although an official casting update is not expected until later this week, more names have been trickling out in relation to the upcoming West End revival of Guys and Dolls. Only Ewan McGregor, who will make his musical stage debut in the Michael Grandage production, has so far been confirmed. However, those also in the frame Douglas Hodge as Nathan Detroit, Martin Ellis (currently in Grandage’s Grand Hotel at the Donmar) and Cory English (who won audience raves filling Nathan Lane’s shoes in The Producers) in addition to, as previously tipped (See The Goss, 29 Dec 2004) Ally McBeal’s Jane Krakowski as Miss Adelaide. The hold-up seems to be which lucky lady will play Sarah Brown, the Salvation Army volunteer who McGregor’s Sky Masterson falls in love with. Guys and Dolls starts performances at the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre on 20 May 2005.
