Havers Has Rebecca in West End???Date: 22 December 2004“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again…” It’s one of the most famous lines in cinema and literature, and soon it could be uttered nightly in the West End. Frank McGuinness’ new stage adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s classic thriller Rebecca, starring Nigel Havers as widower Maxim de Winter, launches an extensive UK tour next month (See Today’s News). The touring schedule, which ends at the beginning of May 2005, could set the show up nicely to transfer to the West End next spring or summer. That’s the plan anyway. And given that Rebecca is being presented by David Pugh, the producer who scored big stage hits with The Right Size’s The Play What I Wrote and Yasmina Reza’s Art, it’s best not to bet against it. A Broadway run is also being mooted. Related Content |
