Mary Poppins Premieres for 10+ Only???Date: 15 December 2004 Mary Poppins generated tabloid headlines last week over warnings that young children may find it too scary. Children under three have been banned from the show entirely while parents are recommended that it may also be inappropriate for under-seven’s. For tonight’s official opening night (Wednesday 15 December 2004) at the West End’s Prince Edward Theatre, the minimum age requirement has been raised higher still. Invites to press and others include a request from the producers, Cameron Mackintosh and Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions, that “on this particular evening your guest, if a child, should be ten years old or older”.
