Asher Cooks Up New West End Role???

Actress Jane Asher, who�s currently appearing in the Almeida production of Festen at the Lyric Theatre, is tipped for a new West End role in the new year. She�s in negotiations to star in a stage version of Writing at the Table, Artemis Cooper�s recent authorised biography of chef Elizabeth David, who is credited with revolutionising drab British post-war cuisine with 1950�s A Book of Mediterranean Food and subsequent cookbooks. Asher seems an apt choice for the role. Acting skills aside, she�s also well-known for her own culinary accomplishments as the founder of her cake decorating and baked goods company.
