Bat Boy Lands Film Deal with Landis???Date: 23 November 2004Bat Boy The Musical has bitten back at the critics in the West End, staying open at the Shaftesbury Theatre despite poor reviews. In future, it could find a larger audience still thanks to Hollywood director John Landis, who’s secured the rights for a big screen version of the tabloid tale about the half-boy half-bat. Landis many seminal films include Animal House, An American Werewolf in London, Trading Places and The Blues Brothers, the 1980 musical which starred John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. The screenplay will be written by the same team behind the stage musical, playwrights Brian Flemming and Keythe Farley and composer/lyricist Laurence O'Keefe and produced by the stage show’s American producers Michael Alden and Kevin Schon along with British partner Robert Mackintosh.
