Jerry Springer Passes TV Watershed???Date: 18 November 2004 No guesses for whether it will be aired before or after the 9.00pm watershed. Avalon, producers of Jerry Springer - The Opera, are in negotiations with BBC2 who want to air the darkly comic, obscenity-strewn musical in its entirety early in the new year. That’ll be good news for fans of the show, the future of which remains uncertain at the West End’s Cambridge Theatre. The Whatsonstage.com Award winner was widely expected to close last month, when Avalon blamed its perilous state on the costs of fighting a libel action against the Daily Mail newspaper (See News, 29 Oct 2004).
