Triplett Goes from Anything to Antiques???Date: 17 November 2004 Fans of Sally Ann Triplett should be able to get another fix of the Whatsonstage.com Award winner. Trevor Nunn, who directed Triplett to award-winning success in Anything Goes, has apparently now cast her in Acorn Antiques, which is due to open in the West End early in the new year, although a venue has not yet been confirmed (See The Goss, 15 Oct 2004). The musical is based on comedienne Victoria Wood’s 1980s BBC spoof on ITV soap opera Crossroads, with its wooden acting style and flimsy sets. Wood, who is writing new storylines for the stage version, is also due to appear along with other stars of the original TV series, Julie Walters, Celia Imrie and Duncan Preston. The show is being designed by Stephen Brimson Lewis and Lez Brotherston and produced by Phil McIntyre, the force behind Queen musical We Will Rock You, still going strong at the Dominion.
