Donmar Goes Wild for Ibsen Duck???Date: 8 November 2004In addition to Neil LaBute, JP Miller, David Greig and Friedrich Schiller, the Donmar Warehouse is saving a space in its 2005 calendar for Norwegian dramatist Henrik Ibsen. Beyond the spring/summer season announced today (See Today’s News, artistic director Michael Grandage has confirmed that he himself will direct Ibsen’s 1885 domestic drama The Wild Duck, in a new translation by David Eldridge, whose adaptation of cult Scandinavian film Festen for the Almeida transferred to the West End this summer. Ibsen’s many other stage classics include The Master Builder, Brand and The Lady from the Sea, all of which had major London revivals last year, and Hedda Gabler, which Critics’ Circle Best Actress Eve Best will take the title role in for the Almeida next year.
