London Desires More Pirandello in 2005???Date: 5 November 2004We’ve recently had revivals of Henry IV, Absolutely! (perhaps) and Six Characters in Search of an Author. Now, according to Variety, London’s next parcel of Pirandello will come in the form of As You Desire Me in a new adaptation directed by Hugh Whitemore and directed by former Almeida joint artistic director Jonathan Kent. The play about a possible amnesiac was made into a 1932 film starring Greta Garbo as the woman who calls herself Zara but could in fact be Maria whose husband is trying to track her down. The new production is expected to open in the West End in May 2005. Related Content |
