Goodman Celebrates West End Birthday??? Date: 2 November 2004
Henry Goodman is tipped to bring Harold Pinter’s 1958 modern classic The Birthday Party back into the West End in the new year. According to Variety, Goodman will play Goldberg, one of two strangers who arrive at a seedy seaside boarding house in search of luckless musician Stanley Webber. Goodman’s many London stage credits include Art, Guys and Dolls, Angels in America, Feelgood, Follies, Chicago, as well as The Merchant of Venice and Assassins, both of which he won Oliviers for. The Birthday Party is due to be directed by Lindsay Posner, first visiting Birmingham and Bath ahead of an expected London transfer in April 2005.
