Suchet Leads Man & Boy to Town???
Date: 5 October 2004
Despite the unfortunate suicide of its young leading lady Fritha Goodey last month (See News, 15 Sep 2004), in true theatrical fashion, the show has indeed gone on for Maria Aitken’s revival of Terence Rattigan’s 1963 play Man and Boy. The production, starring David Suchet, has been winning rave reviews at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, where it opened this past weekend, and looks like a prime contender for a West End transfer at the end of its current tour, which continues to eight further venues until 27 November (See News, 11 Aug 2004). Suchet was last seen in the West End playing Salieri in Peter Hall’s 1998 revival of Amadeus, subsequently transferring to Broadway.
