Gyllenhaal Gives Romeo a Miss???Date: 27 July 2004Blame the meteorological Hollywood blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow. Thanks to it and other recent screen successes, Whatsonstage.com’s 2003 Best Newcomer Jake Gyllenhaal has become such an expensive mega star that he’s apparently shelved – or at least indefinitely postponed - plans to return to the West End in a new staging of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Laurence Boswell who directed Gyllenhaal in his astonishing stage debut, This Is Our Youth (See The Goss, 24 Oct 2003).
