Director Quits Cuckoo’s Nest???Date: 22 July 2004There’s a new question mark hanging over the imminent Christian Slater-headed revival of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which is due to open next month at the Edinburgh Festival ahead of a transfer to the West End’s Gielgud Theatre (See News, 21 Jul 2004). Whatsonstage.com has heard from show insiders that director and co-producer Guy Masterson has dramatically withdrawn from the production. Perhaps it’s just a momentary storm in a teacup. A show spokesperson has now told us that, though emotions have been running high after “a difficult few days in rehearsals”, Masterson is still on board and all is going ahead as planned.
