And what distinguishes a good ear from a bad apparently is how well the Latex is individually pressed. In addition to the usual wear and tear, because May likes to hand the ears out as keepsakes for the show’s most ardent fans – a group at Leeds’ West Yorkshire Playhouse, where it finishes a three-week season this weekend, has already seen the musical seven times – he estimates the turnover is two to three sets of ears per week. If you’re pinning your hopes on obtaining this must-have memento, be warned: the company work up a sweat on this show. Or, as May himself puts it rather more obliquely, “Let’s just say they (the ears) come off with ease after most shows.” Related Content |
