Simply Heavenly Secures Clive & Ruby???Date: 8 June 2004 The Young Vic’s 2003 revival of Langston Hughes’ Simply Heavenly was scheduled to transfer to the West End’s newly launched Trafalgar Studios in September, but it looks like the date might slip slightly, with an early October opening now more probable. The reason for the delay is a good one, though. Producers wanted to make sure they could get the inimitable Clive Rowe and Ruby Turner – who were jointly nominated for a Whatsonstage.com Award for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical for the show – back on board for the new run, and that they have done. Rowe and Turner are signed, while details of other cast members and exact dates should be announced shortly. The Ambassadors Theatre Group (ATG), which owns Trafalgar Studios, should also be announcing more programming details soon for Studio 1, now housing the RSC’s Othello until 17 July 2004, as well as the smaller, still-dark Studio 2, which is intended to be used for new work.
