To Bid or Not to Bid for Branagh???Date: 31 March 2004As prizes go, it doesn’t come much better for theatre lovers. As part of its Platinum Auction, the Paul Bevan Cancer Foundation is offering an opportunity to meet and work with actor and director Kenneth Branagh, who this year scooped the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers’ Choice Best Actor Award for his title performance in Edmond at the National. The highest bidder will have a two-hour personal masterclass, during which they’ll be able to discuss and act out a Shakespeare scene either as a soliloquy or as a two-hander with Branagh. The masterclass is one of 60 lots offered in the auction, which is raising money to set up a Berkshire-based information and support centre for cancer patients, their families and carers. The auction ill be held on 7 May 2004. Ahead of that, bids can be made via the charity the website or by calling 01344 292191. Related Content |
