Tale Tipped as New Stones in His Pockets???Date: 19 March 2004 Stones in His Pockets may be finishing in London shortly (See News, 18 Mar 2004), but producer Paul Elliott could soon by banking on another two-hander to emulate its long-running West End success. The Tale That Wags the Dog explores mankind's eternal quest for love and lust, from the first sexual encounter to outrageous acts of betrayal. Using physical storytelling, husband and wife team Danny Scheinmann and Sarah Sutcliffe play more than 50 characters as they enact The Tale that draws on myths from a variety of cultures, religions and centuries. After earlier versions at Battersea Arts Centre and the Edinburgh Festival, as well as a 2002 run at London’s Lyric Hammersmith, the AandBC show, directed by Gregory Thompson, has just had a limited season at Plymouth’s Theatre Royal, where it broke box office records in the Drum studio. All going to plan, West End audiences may have a chance to catch it soon.
