Witt Limbers up for New Shape of Things???Date: 24 February 2004We should be seeing a lot more of one of the imported presenters for this year’s Oliviers (See News, 23 Feb 2004). Hollywood actress Alicia Witt will lead a sexy young cast in a new production of Neil Labute’s The Shape of Things. The play – centring around a quartet of American college students and an intense experiment in modern love and art – premiered at London’s Almeida Theatre in June 2001. It later transferred to Broadway and, last year, was filmed with its original cast of Rachel Weisz, Paul Rudd, Fred Weller and Gretchen Mol. The new production opens in April at Plymouth’s Theatre Royal and is expected in London soon after. Witt is best known for her films Two Weeks Notice, Vanilla Sky and Mr Holland’s Opus as well as TV’s Cybill. Related Content |
