Albee Tethers Transfer for The Goat???Date: 20 February 2004A play about bestiality hardly sounds like your typical West End fodder. Nevertheless, that’s where we hear Edward Albee’s The Goat is heading next. Albee’s Tony Award winner - the full title of which is The Goat or, Who is Sylvia? - received its British premiere on 3 February at north London’s Almeida Theatre, where its limited run finishes on 13 March. In Anthony Page’s production, Jonathan Pryce stars as Martin, whose relationship with the Sylvia of the title jeopardises his marriage and career. A likely West End home for controversial drama is Shaftesbury Avenue’s Apollo Theatre, which has been dark since the revival of Arthur Miller’s The Price finished its run there last month.
