Britney, Beyonce & Pink Don’t Rock Queen Fans???Date: 27 January 2004Two generations of pop stars and their fans collided last night. Britney Spears, Beyonce and Pink were on hand with Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor to launch a new Pepsi commercial that uses the rock supergroup’s anthem “We Will Rock You”. Set in ancient Rome, the “Gladiator” commercial also features Latin heartthrob Enrique Iglesias as an evil emperor. For the launch last night, there was a special performance of Queen musical We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, attended by May, Taylor and the young pop songstresses. However, after the stars were mobbed at the pre-show gathering in Trafalgar Square, the performance start time was delayed by some two hours – apparently the Queen faithful who were waiting throughout at the Dominion were none too pleased.
