Jerry Undaunted by Taboo Broadway Bashing???Date: 19 January 2004 Avalon, the producers of Jerry Springer - The Opera, better hope that all new British musical imports aren’t tarred with the same brush. The New York Times has reported that the award-winning “low life meets high art” musical inspired by the notorious American chat show host will arrive on Broadway in spring 2005. News that came just hours after confirmation that another London-originated production, Boy George’s 1980s-set Taboo, will close on Broadway on 8 February 2004, after generally damning notices and just 100 performances.
