Cooper Choreographs Grand Hotel???
Date: 19 December 2003
Adam Cooper seems to be taking to multi-tasking rather well. The former Royal Ballet principal made his musical theatre debut in
On Your Toes, which he also choreographed and transferred to London’s Royal Festival Hall in August 2003. In the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers’ Choice Awards, Cooper is the only individual to be nominated for two 2004 prizes – both Best Actor in a Musical and Best Choreographer – for the production. (

On Your Toes on a Japanese tour next spring, then he’s due to head home to London to turn his hand back to musical choreography, for the revival of
Grand Hotel which opens at the Donmar Warehouse in November. After his early career with the Royal Ballet, Cooper rose to popular prominence as the lead Swan in
Matthew Bourne's male
Swan Lake for Adventures in Motion Pictures. On film, he appeared briefly as the adult Billy - again playing the Swan - in the award-winning 2000 hit
Billy Elliot.
