Betrayal Rings in New Year with New Cast???Date: 25 November 2003Whatsonstage.com's Outing last week aside, Sir Peter Hall's revival of Harold Pinter's 1978 back-to-front drama about infidelity, Betrayal seems to be faring well in the West End. It's booking at the Duchess Theatre up to 31 January 2004, when the current principals - Janie Dee, Aden Gillett and Hugo Speer - complete their contracts. But there's a strong possibility that the production may, at that point, recast and extend. It would seem a fitting turn of events for the play which, though considered a modern classic and one of Pinter's finest, has had to wait 25 years to at last receive its West End premiere with this production.
