Which Classics for Kingston-upon-Thames???Date: 25 November 2003And speaking of Sir Peter Hall, we've also heard a few more juicy titbits about his plans for the new Kingston-upon-Thames complex, modelled on the Elizabethan Rose Theatre, of he'll be the founding artistic director (See The Goss, 23 Jun 2003). At our Outing to Betrayal last week, he told 200 Whatsonstage.com theatregoers that at the centre, due to open in October 2004, he'll present eight plays a year in repertory, with five to six being revivals of Shakespeare and other classics (See News, 21 Nov 2003). Amongst the classics Hall's toying with for the inaugural season are Much Ado About Nothing, and a pair of Chekhovs, The Seagull and The Cherry Orchard. Related Content |
