Rowe Steals the Masterclass Show???

Date: 3 November 2003

Is there any musical theatre performer more universally adored and admired by his peers that Clive Rowe (Simply Heavenly, Chicago, Company, Carousel)? If so, we think they'd be hard to find. At last month's TMA Awards, though Rowe was only presenting rather than accepting an award, he got one of the biggest rounds of applause from the industry audience. This week, Rowe is sharing some of the tips and techniques that have not only made him so popular, but also earned him an Olivier (for Guys and Dolls). The latest in a series of Masterclasses held at the West End's Theatre Royal Haymarket (See The Goss, 1 Jul 2003), Rowe will be speaking tomorrow, Tuesday 4 November 2003 at 2.30pm. The free events are aimed at inspiring young people, aged 17 to 30. Other workshops this week are with playwrights Peter Nichols (today) and Tanika Gupta (Thursday), while later in the month Gillian Anderson, star of TV's X-Files and last year's What the Night Is For in the West End, and former NT artistic director Richard Eyre take their turns. For more info, check out the Haymarket website.
