Macbeth & Hamlet Help Boyd Inaugurate RSC Reign???Date: 3 September 2003A few more juicy details have emerged about Michael Boyd's official inaugural season as Royal Shakespeare Company artistic director. In addition to the previously announced return of Dame Judi Dench in As You Like It and an Othello featuring Antony Sher as Iago (See News, 11 Jul 2003), and the expected Spanish Golden Age season curated by Laurence Boswell (See The Goss, 11 Jul 2003), next year in Stratford will feature a Macbeth, directed by Dominic Cooke and a Hamlet, directed by Boyd himself. In this week's 20 Questions interview, Whatsonstage.com award-winning actress Sian Thomas reveals that she'll be appearing in both, playing Lady Macbeth and Gertrude, respectively. Full details of the 2004 season will be officially announced on 30 September 2003 at a press conference held at Home House in London. Related Content |
