Donmar Plans London Tours & Diva Returns???Date: 21 July 2003Aside from his praise for Whatsonstage.com (obviously of prime importance!), Donmar Warehouse artistic director Michael Grandage gave a heads up on some interesting development plans in this week's "Changing of the Guard" interview (See Features, 21 Jul 2003), not least tours around London and its environs, starting from next year. He explains: "Greater London is a vast place. It's not always easy to get into Covent Garden and certainly not if 250 people a night is a pre-sold capacity. So Greater London is the goal in the immediate term and then, maybe eventually in the longer term, we'll take our work out nationally and internationally." Also on the agenda: new plays, more European classics and, further ahead, some intermittent sandwich seasons for new Divas at the Donmar cabaret. Related Content |
