Marching Bands Blast Back for London Sequel???Date: 5 June 2003The group that does for marching bands what Riverdance did for Irish hoofers is heading back to London for a second helping. Born in the American Midwest more than 15 years ago, Star of Indiana turned its world champion drum and bugle corps experience into a musical theatre spectacular. After success in the US, Blast! - with its 70-strong company of brass players, percussionists, baton twirlers, sabre tossers and other visual drill masters - transferred to London's Apollo Hammersmith in December 1999 for a limited season. Now that show's sequel, Blast II: Shockwave is preparing for a late summer run in the West End, probably at the Queen's Theatre, where The Rocky Horror Show moves in for a birthday fortnight from 23 June to 5 July 2003. According to show creators, Blast II, which completed a five-month North American tour in April, "ignites this new contemporary genre with cutting edge artistry while retaining all the intrinsic elements" of the original.
