Perry Predicts Post-Friends Return???

Friends star Matthew Perry is having such a great time preparing to make his imminent West End debut in David Mamet's Sexual Perversity in Chicago that he's considering a return next year. Appearing this past weekend on Michael Parkinson's TV chat show, Perry confirmed that this next season - comprising 18 episodes only - would be really and truly the very last ever for the hit American sitcom. As to what he'd like to do post-Friends, he told Parkinson: "This (the play) has been a wonderful experience so maybe I'll come back and do some more." He went on to say that if the audience has half as much fun watching the production as he and his co-stars - fellow American Hank Azaria and Brits Minnie Driver and Kelly Reilly - have had rehearsing it, "we're going to have a huge hit". Written in 1974, Mamet's one-acter, about two regular guys and two regular girls looking for love in all the usual places, inspired the 1986 Hollywood film About Last Night, starring Demi Moore and Rob Lowe. The West End revival is directed by Lindsay Posner and opens for a limited season at the Comedy Theatre on 14 May 2003, following previews from 3 May (See News, 10 Feb 2003).
