West End Debut for Office Games???
Date: 9 April 2003
The news about Adam Rickitt and Charlie Brooks starring in Trevor Baxter's Office Games at north London's Pleasance Theatre has already caused a bit of a stir amongst theatregoers on the Discussion Forum, but here in the office, we're as intrigued by the show's backing as its casting. And the combination of the two - leading commercial producer Bill Kenwright and the pair of TV soap stars, that is - surely must spell bigger plans for this production. Even the press release suggests as much. It announces that Brooks will be "making her West End debut" in the comedy, which opens on 24 April for a month-long season. But last time we checked, the Pleasance didn't qualify as West End either geographically (being located off Caledonian Road in Holloway) or technically (by not being a member of the Society of London Theatre). Just a slip of the keyboard?
