From Operatunity Reality TV to Rigoletto???Date: 28 February 2003 Channel Four's popular reality television series Operatunity concludes this weekend in spectacular fashion when the competition's two co-winners - supermarket worker Jane Gilchrist and blind soprano Denise Leigh - get to strut their stuff at the London Coliseum tomorrow night (Saturday 1 March 2003). The two women, who triumphed over 2,500 other opera hopefuls, will share the role of Gilda in a special performance of Rigoletto staged by English National Opera. Anyone who misses the live performance - and, who knows, that may include disgruntled ENO choristers, who succeeded in having a performance of The Trojans - The Capture of Troy cancelled on Wednesday, following a strike walkout (See News, 19 Feb 2003) - can catch the television broadcast of the show on Channel Four at 7.00pm on Sunday.
