Hamilton Eyes Donmar Debut with Grandage???Date: 28 October 2002 Whatsonstage.com Award winner Victoria Hamilton hopes to make her Donmar Warehouse debut with incoming artistic director Michael Grandage. In this week's 20 Questions interview with Whatsonstage.com, the actress names Grandage as her favourite director, an "extraordinary" talent who she's been desperate to work with again for the past two years. Hamilton previously won the TMA and Critics' Circle awards for Best Actress for Grandage's production of As You Like It, which ran at Sheffield Crucible and the Lyric Hammersmith. "I'm absolutely sure Michael will succeed in luring me to the Donmar now that he's running it," she says. "I definitely want to do it, but it's finding the time in our schedules." Unfortunately, that might not be for a while yet. In addition to various film commitments, Hamilton is currently tied up starring in the West End revival of Somerset Maugham's comedy, Home and Beauty, and next year she and Eddie Izzard are taking A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (for which she won Whatsonstage.com's Best Actress award earlier this year) to Broadway for six months.
