Hampstead Reopens with Firth's Safari Party???

Plans are firming up for the transfer of Tim Firth's latest play, The Safari Party, first seen as a production directed by Alan Ayckbourn at Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre in April 2002. Rather than going straight into the West End, however, the comedy about travelling dinner party guests in deepest Cheshire looks likely to receive its London premiere in early 2003 as part of the inaugural season of Hampstead Theatre's new, state-of-the-art building. In the meantime, Firth is busy with Madness' Our House, for which he wrote the book. The musical receives its world premiere at the West End's Cambridge Theatre on 28 October 2002, following previews. And more specifically, next week, Firth will be busy with 300 Whatsonstage.com theatregoers - participating, along with Madness' Suggs and Chas Smash, in the exclusive Q&A session we've arranged as part of our twice SOLD-OUT Outing on 7 October 2002.
