Ensler Follows Vagina with Body???
Date: 13 September 2002
The Vagina Monologues may be closing next month at the Arts Theatre, but its creator Eve Ensler could be represented in the West End again before long. Ensler has been working on a new show called The Good Body which she hopes will receive a Broadway premiere next year. If it does well, it could follow in its predecessor's international footsteps. It's certainly borrowing on The Vagina Monologues successful format, based on interviews that Ensler has conducted with myriad women. The Good Body, however, explores a darker side of female sexuality that's only touched on in The Vagina Monologues - body and genital mutilation. Meanwhile, back in this country, The Vagina Monologues this week launched a UK-wide star-studded touring production. The West End production concludes on 12 October 2002.
