American Hot Hopes for Luck of the Irish???
Date: 5 September 2002
A new musical starring West End veterans Paul Baker (currently in Taboo) and Josie Walker (Olivier-nominated for The Beautiful Game) receives a try-out this weekend at the Palace Theatre, home of Les Miserables, ahead of an Irish tour and hope-for London return. A kind of musicalised Friends, the show American Hot follows a group of thirtysomething New Yorkers who are successful in life but not always in love. It will have a one-off charity performance (in support of Crusaid) this Sunday evening, 8 September, at the West End's Palace and will then tour Ireland to the end of the month. Devised and directed by Mitch Sebastian, the musical also features Karen Evans, Ben Goddard and Les Miserables' Carmen Cusack and Tom Pearce.
